A surge in Covid-19 cases brings more bad news for a municipal bond market reeling from coast-to-coast shutdowns and record unemployment

The recent surge in Covid-19 cases has brought more bad news for a municipal bond market already reeling from the impact of coast-to-coast shutdowns and record unemployment.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority narrowly avoided default. The utility got a badly needed reprieve when Chicago-based Nuveen LLC agreed to accept a $34 million payment due Wednesday on Aug. 31 instead.

Mainstream media: BLM/Antifa riots = good and doesnt spread covid. Everyday Americans getting together to grill = lock ‘em all up!

Assymptomatics.

Huh? But deaths are plummeting as fast as a meteor from space. Let’s test for bad breath nationally and note the numbers measured next to new low-interest loans. Hmmm. No, let’s not. That’s stupid.

Did you see the jobs numbers?

Really? there's a problem? I thought we are creating so many jobs that we have to add a 52nd State to hold them all and avoid sending them offshore. JobsReport

And I understand that all the companies that are putting bonds out there are being bought up by the federal reserve which is just simply print the money they don’t actually do you know have to use real currency to purchase bonds so in the end the federal reserve will own a big ch

Maybe the cities should have thought about this before they let the protestors spread the virus in Democrat run cities. Don't they require permits for big gatherings like that?

Fauci Warns Coronavirus Cases Could Reach 100,000 a Day, as Surge Delays ReopeningsAnthony Fauci said the U.S. is now recording about 40,000 new cases a day of the new coronavirus, and that “it could go up to 100,000 a day” if people continue to flout advice on social distancing and face masks. The Trump doctrine. 100,000 a day. All of this because realDonaldTrump was too vain to cover the orange goo on his fat face. So silly! New case mean nothing. We shut the country down to flatten the curve and not overwhelm the hospitals. All have been accomplished. Mortality rates and ICU bed % is key.

As coronavirus cases surge, California pauses multimillion-dollar testing expansionCalifornia is cutting off funding for COVID-19 testing just when counties say they need more resources in rural and disadvantaged areas. Nothing will stop 2 million illegals living 20 to an apartment from spreading new virus'. Why do you almost always require subscriptions to articles that have important public health ramifications regarding Covid-19? Seriously? Public health articles should be readily available as a public service during these times. Seems counter intuitive to me CAgovernor MayorOfLA GavinNewsom
