In a statement, officials emphasized that 'vaccination is our best defense' amid the surge in COVID-19 cases fueled by the arrival of the omicron variant.

, officials said that people aged 18 and older who got Moderna’s vaccine can get booster shots of either the vaccine developed by Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech or Johnson & Johnson “at least months” after being fully vaccinated. Officials with the FDA said an emergency use authorization issued for the Moderna vaccine had been amended to allow for the shortened timeline.

“The country is in the middle of a wave of the highly contagious omicron variant, which spreads more rapidly than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus and other variants that have emerged,” Dr. Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said in a statement. “Vaccination is our best defense against COVID-19, including the circulating variants, and shortening the length of time between completion of a primary series and a booster dose may help reduce waning immunity.

“We encourage everyone to get vaccinated—it’s never too late to get your COVID-19 vaccine or booster,” Marks said.

Shutting down airports for 14 days would help isolate cases. But this is about selling snake oil vaccine. Glad I don't have to be frequently tested for MMR and polio.

Officials? I don't need a government employee telling me what my best defenses are medically, especially with a variant 70% less dangerous than the last. Someone's 'best defense' is strictly Dr/Patient private conversation.

You should make sure you mention that even though you are vaccinated, you can still get COVID and spread it to others. In one statement you say Vacs cure all then the news that you still get sick and can spread it. Say it all KIRO

Well you get to report again..what you won't report is death's are at an all time low..This is NOT delta. It's a bad cold with body aches.

During the press conference, the governor announced steps to help contain the spread of coronavirus including expanding testing, booster vaccine availability, and providing free KN95 masks. Coronavirus cases have been surging in Washington state. If he is providing KN95 masks that actually fit our students and that they will wear ok 🤷🏼‍♀️ would love for him to come to my school though and have that talk with my kids. Ok now I actually do because I was laughing as I wrote that. Did he really wear that mask?
