Universities are discovering that wastewater monitoring holds real promise as an early detection system for the coronavirus. At least two schools have quarantined hundreds of students after tests showed genetic material from the virus in campus sewage.

A laboratory assistant holds sewage samples collected from Utah State University dormitory's Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, in Logan, Utah. About 300 students are quarantined to their rooms this week, but not because anyone got sick or tested positive. Instead, the warning bells came from the sewage. Colleges around the country are monitoring wastewater in hopes of stopping coronavirus outbreaks before they get out of hand.

“We didn’t even know they were testing,” said Schmutz, who is 18 and from Omaha, Nebraska. “It all really happened fast.” “That’s just tremendously valuable information when we think about the setting of a college dorm, and how quickly this disease can spread through that population,” said Peter Grevatt, CEO of The Water Research Foundation, which promotes studies of water and wastewater to ensure water quality and service.

The method remains imprecise, though. It can spot infection trends, but it can’t yet pinpoint how many people have the virus or the stage of infection. That means it’s not yet quite as useful on a larger scale in cities, which don’t always have a university’s scientific resources or ability to require people to get tested. The technology is being closely studied, though, and it is evolving rapidly, Grevatt said, adding that it’s best used along with other methods like contact tracing.

The buildings are laid out in apartment-style suites, and students were released from quarantine in small groups if every roommate in a suite tested negative. The tests had turned up four coronavirus cases as of Thursday.

Ain’t that the sh*t

WFIUNews God, talk about blunt instruments.

Mike Rowe should be made aware of this

Bring this to nursing homes now!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure it was ASU that quarantined ~300 and found 2 cases? Because that sounds a lot like what happened at University of Arizona. See WAPO

so ur saying if i drink sewage i will not get covid

Hahahahaha . Now they're backtracking the virus via literally shit...theyre just trying to see how gullible people are at this point. Are any other viruses mainly passed through shit?

It makes no sense to do this. 'Genetic material from the virus' could be live virus, dead virus, bits of dead virus. Same with insane numbers of cycles in PCR testing. The simple presence of the genetic material does NOT mean infection.

Folks its in ones own shit and piss, wash yourselves with soap and don't touch anything on your face or others until washed.

Gives a whole new meaning to “check your shit”

How about hospitalizations? You know, a statistic that actually reflects how many people are getting ... sick?

The number of new cases matters not! With a recovery rate in excess of 99.99%, the vast majority will have few, if any symptoms at all! This fear mongering bullshit must be stopped! Plandemic Agenda21 ID2020 Operationlockstep Quantumtattoo Coronavirus Covid19

The Atlantic is owned by Laurene Powell Jobs. She is a Biden megadonor who gave $2,800 to his primary campaign and $610,600 to his Victory Fund. Why is this not being brought up more?

Except the NHS in Britain has been on this for months.

Ain’t nobody testing my $hit!. That’s why I use a chamber pot and toss it in my garden each morning.

🙄. This is literally insane..leave the kids alone ..

Looks like desperately trying to create numbers for the news cycle.

This was documented in a Paris study in March or April. Why has it taken us so long?

Who was testing shit for them to come across this lol?

Shitmus test?

This is absurd. Are people this dumb? Yes. There is virus. Everywhere. If the kids come to school, some of them will get it and spread it. You don't make them come to school and then act shocked and force them into quarantine when the inevitable happens.

The idea overreaction by financial market to false media false information of real estate bubble could result in economic policies that led to the Great Recession should make Americans stop and really consider if they want the same failed leadership of Biden, Nancy, Chuck again.

So now the police state is monitoring their shits? 😂😂😂

Now that is a job i like to have!
