DOTHAN, Ala. - People around the world are celebrating Good Friday, including in the Wiregrass.The cross walk symbolizes Jesus carrying his cross. Some churches make these walks a yearly tradition ahead of Easter.“It’s just a time of reflection,” Chris Adams, pastor at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church said. “A time for us to think about what Christ did on our behalf.”
Pastor at Geneva First Assembly Ali Harrison said, “The community getting together, different churches, different denominations, and everyone putting all that aside just to have unity among the churches.” Some lose sight of the true meaning of Easter and Adams says this is a chance to remember what it’s all about.
