People stand inside the lobby of China's Xinhua News Agency after it was damaged by protesters in Hong Kong, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. Hong Kong riot police fired multiple rounds of tear gas and used a water cannon Saturday to break up a rally by thousands of masked protesters demanding meaningful autonomy after Beijing indicated it could tighten its grip on the Chinese territory.
Xinhua in a brief statement late Saturday strongly condemned the “barbaric acts of mobs” that had vandalized and set fire to the lobby of its Asia-Pacific office building in the city’s Wan Chai neighborhood. On Friday, the Communist Party in Beijing vowed to “establish and strengthen a legal system and enforcement mechanism” to prevent foreign powers from sowing acts of “separatism, subversion, infiltration and sabotage” in Hong Kong.
Protesters have frequently targeted Chinese banks and businesses. In July, demonstrators threw eggs at China’s liaison office in Hong Kong and defaced the Chinese national emblem in a move slammed by Beijing as a direct challenge to its authority. A bomb disposal robot was used to detonate two suspicious parcels on different roads late Saturday, said a police spokesman, who declined to be named as he wasn’t authorized to speak to the media.
Are you declaring here that HK is china's territory because you don't wanna be banned in China? AskingForAFriend
Hong Kong would be the most peace loving people in the world if China would give them their freedom.
China’s Xinhua news agency can literally go to h?ll, the Beautiful thing about Hong Kong’s protest, is a slap on the face of the corrupted Chinese government. It’s 2019 not 1950’s. Consequences will be big for China, to a point of no return...
I think China did this so they can blame on Hong Kong people.
No, what's barbaric are 'Uigher Re-education Centers'.
Ugh... If you don't want those protestors to become barbaric you should listen and accommodate their aspirations. Whining doesn't help ccp
Shilling for the communists again, huh AP?

Coincidentally, Xinhua News also says nothing happened in Tiananmen Square on June 4th, 1989
'In the Chinese territory' Gotta make sure and get that little tidbit right in the title, eh AP? Yea, we heard about you pressuring the FBI to arrest and investigate people, too, don't worry. News spreads.
Oooh, they didn't burn it down?
I bet they're pretty quiet about the imprisonment and reeducation of the Uighurs.
