After Hong Kong protestors target Starbucks, CEO says 'focus and priority' is on employee safety

Hong Kong protestors targeted Starbucks cafes after the daughter of its Hong Kong franchising group's founder defended the actions of Hong Kong police.Johnson also said that Starbucks deals with geopolitical issues "all the time."CEO Kevin Johnson said that the coffee chain is focused on the safety of its baristas after Hong Kong protestors targeted its cafes.

Protestors' action against Starbucks, including vandalizing stores and calling for a boycott, has mostly occurred during the first quarter of its fiscal 2020.on Wednesday. Its two largest markets, the United States and mainland China, both saw strong same-store sales growth.
