Meanwhile, downtown businesses are being destroyed on top of the pandemic and the rank-and-file police are increasingly venting their frustration.
Lost in the debate are the downtown businesses racking up millions in property damage and lost sales and the voices of the hundreds of thousands of Portland residents who have stayed off the streets. “There’s really this battle that we’re having right now — a communications war over who’s a ‘good protester’ and who’s a ‘bad protester.’ And what the police and the mayor are trying to do is turn the city against the people that are out protesting,” he said.

Portland isn’t “rocked.”. It’s working through how to abolish its police department, while its police department keeps making the case for abolishment.
Violence will only bring more violence. Find another way.

There’s no violence right now. No law enforcement presence even downtown. People were meditating today. Portland is not as in disarray as everyone is being led to believe. Seems like folk really just don’t like it when peaceful protestors are shot in the face.
