Celebrating a historic win: Greece Blue Knights Marching Band brings home NYS championship

The Greece Blue Knights Marching Band celebrating winning the Governor's Cup at the NYS Field Band Conference championships in October 2023 with a performance at Greece Arcadia High School Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. The Greece schools band placed first in its category at the NYS Field Band Conference championships in Syracuse last month.

This week, the crew brought the coveted "Governor's Cup" home to Greece for the first time, and put on a little show for the hometown crowd. "This is my pride," said Jaden DiPaola, a band member who's currently a senior at Greece Olympia. "I love playing my instrument, and everyone else is a band nerd, you know? Everyone loves it — it's just amazing."

"I just want to see all the people both in the stands and on the field enjoying music and loving what we're doing," added Maddie Pisciotti, a senior at Greece Athena. You can catch the band performing live in the Veteran's Day parade at Highland Park this Saturday, Nov. 11.
