Health experts were left reeling this week by abrupt new guidance from the CDC that said not everyone exposed to COVID-19 necessarily needs to take a precautionary test if they aren't showing symptoms. There might be a reason, though, why the new recommendation 'makes no sense' — White House Coronavirus Task Force member Dr. Anthony Fauci was literally unconscious when the decision was made.'I was under general anesthesia in the operating room and was not part of any discussion or deliberation regarding the new testing recommendations,' Fauci told CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta. He added: 'I am concerned about the interpretation of these recommendations and worried it will give people the incorrect assumption that asymptomatic spread is not of great concern. In fact it is.'The CDC's new guidance allegedly resulted from pressure from the Trump administration, CNN adds — but the deliberations happened Thursday of last week, while Fauci was having surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal cord.Previously, testing was recommended 'for all close contacts of persons with COVID-19,' in order to curb asymptomatic transmission.More stories from theweek.com That 'famous' Lincoln quote in Lara Trump's RNC speech? Bullshit!

The CDC said it had consulted with Drs. Birx, Fauci, and others. It didn't say they had concurred with the changes. Just another corrupted agency of the Trump administration which will further undermine public confidence in any vaccine which may be developed.

The most Trump thing you can imagine

Wow. People never cease to amaze me with their awfulness.

Conspiracy theorist!

💺 🍵....

What a rude awakening.

CDC reverses COVID-19 guidance, says testing may not be needed after exposureNew CDC guidance states that healthy people who have been exposed to coronavirus 'do not necessarily need a test,' as long as they don't have symptoms. Some experts say that could result in fewer people being tested. Yes, more testing, not less is needed in our community outside of New Orleans. During the beginning of the month, we were testing 32% positive and almost 75% of those were asymptomatic. Yep trying to kill us all. So if it takes 7-10 days, sometimes longer to show symptoms, this makes ZERO sense!

CDC Changes Testing Guidelines To Exclude People With No COVID-19 SymptomsThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has changed its coronavirus testing guidelines, raising questions about whether the move was done to reduce testing. This is ridiculous. We should test anyone who wants to be tested. We *know* there are thousands of infected people walking around today with no symptoms, spreading covid. WHY WOULD WE NOT TEST THEM?
