San Antonio native Carol Burnett revealed Wednesday that she used to steal toilet paper from movie theaters when she lived in the Alamo City. Burnett appeared on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' on Wednesday to promote her new Apple TV+ show, 'Palm Royale,' which is set in Palm Beach high society in the late '60s. The comedy legend spent her childhood living with her grandmother in a one-room West Side house, where she slept on the couch.
Her character is in a coma for the first three episodes of the show, and the late night host asked how she managed to pull off acting in a state 'more than sleep, but less than death.' 'I would get up at 5 in the morning, as we do, and go to the set ... then I went to bed,' Burnett said. 'And I got paid.' 'Nice work if you can get it,' Colbert said.
