His comments come as growing number of nations suspend operations of the plane after a crash in Ethiopia that killed 157 people just five months after another disaster in Indonesia involving the same model. “If we received information or explanations that indicate that there’s a problem ... certainly we’ll act immediately,” he told reporters in Montreal.

FAA inspectors saying publicly on CNN not to fly on this aircraft until we have more answers. Yet, MarcGarneau thinks he knows better, JustinTrudeau? Do the right thing, AirCanada, WestJet! Boeing737Max8

Attention. Attention. Elaine Chou.

Even as 18 Canadians perished?

Anyone think the US leaned on Canada?

Transportation minister should be on-board with Justin’s family to show Canadians their confidence in 737 Max 8.

This makes no sense, growing countries grounding planes and not Canada, that's risking innocent lives, clearly growing group of experts believe these planes are flawed

I personally would not fly on that aircraft at this time until such time as it is declared safe to do so.

This is very disappointing. The government appears to have caved to the airlines. Suffice it to say if something bad happens anywhere Marc Garneau and possibly the PM will be toast.

Rather than risking the lives of passengers in the interest of profits WestJet and AirCanada and others need to act by grounding these planes. Boeing737Max canada yvr WestJet aircanada

'We care deeply about public safety. We are consulting our task-force of experts and we will strive to have seat-belts in our school-buses by 2050'

Such as another crash Are we putting politics ahead of public safety ? Seems to me that when 2 fundamentally new aircraft tumble out of the sky, there is a problem with the aircraft or manuals or training - whichever, shouldn't we error on the side of caution

Reminder: Trump wanted his own personal pilot to head the FAA.

Or new crashes emerge...

does another plane-crash count as 'new information'? Have fun collecting those dead 'information'-pieces from your ground

Really seems like other countries care more about the safety of their people at this point. The UK, and EU saw fit to ground them.
