The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says it seized nearly 900 kilograms of cannabis set for export in two separate busts. — via TheGrowthOp cannabiscommunity cannabisnews

The agency notes that it is illegal to bring cannabis and cannabis products into or out of Canada without a valid Health Canada permit or exemption.

“Although cannabis has been legalized and regulated in Canada, it remains illegal to import or export cannabis and cannabis products without a valid permit or exemption issued by the Government of Canada,” said a spokesperson with the CBSA. “These significant seizures demonstrate our commitment to intercepting illegal narcotics – at import and export – and contributes directly to disrupting criminal organization activity.

Two men from Winnipeg, aged 50 and 31, were later charged with the importation of cocaine and the possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. They are due in court in Windsor next month, while the investigation remains ongoing.drove a semi-truck loaded with 158 kilograms into Michigan.
