BSCO: Man arrested, 50 others cited during cockfighting event

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office cited 50 people and arrested a man involved in a cockfighting event on Saturday. After receiving an anonymous tip on Friday, the sheriff's organized crime and criminal investigation units began looking into the possible cockfighting event. A search warrant was obtained for a home in the 26000 block of Sand Cliff Drive on the far South Side of Bexar County .

Man, woman critical after crashing into large boulder on East Side, police say Deputy Chief Nancy Sanford said deputies raided the location around 2:45 p.m. and found weapons, drugs, and about 200 roosters. She added that 50 people, including the event organizer, Paul Morales, were detained. Morales was arrested and charged with hosting a cockfighting event, a state jail felony. The 50 people who attended the event were given a Class C Misdemeanor citation.
