Extinction Rebellion activists protest outside the Brazilian Embassy in London, on August 23, 2019, to call on Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro to act to protect the Amazon rainforest.: Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro continued to blame the burning of the Amazon forest on political motives after French leader Emmanuel Macron warned that the intense fires showed “our house is burning.”
Far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro accused Macron of capitalizing on the issue for “political gain” and said his comments, which came ahead of the G7 summit that Brazil is not a part of, were the result of a “misplaced colonial mindset.” He responded after Macron tweeted that the fire was an “international crisis, adding “our house is burning. Literally.”Despite having no evidence to back it up, Bolsonaro previously blamed green groups and NGOs for setting alight the world’s largest tropical rainforest,
of trying to discredit his government after he cut their funding. Greenpeace Brazil called the attack a “sick, pitiful statement.”aimed at protecting the Amazon, citing Brazil’s lack of commitment to addressing alarming rates of deforestation since Bolsonaro took office. He responded by saying that Brazil didn’t need the money and that Chancellor Angela Merkel should use the funds to reforest Germany instead.
Stop lying, stop being stupid, you're embarrassing, AMAZON IS NOT EMMANUELMACRON'S HOUSE, IT'S MY HOUSE, BRAZIL IS MY COUNTRY. God will punish those who lie. He doesn't even take care of his right country! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🖕
