As the Supreme Court court weighs the future of Roe v. Wade, a resurgent anti-abortion movement is looking to press its advantage in state-by-state battles, operating on the assumption that a court reshaped by Trump will overturn or seriously weaken it

including Trump appointees Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barret, indicated they would uphold the Mississippi law.

Both sides seem to have been preparing for this moment for years, particularly with Trump having installed more than 200 federal judges and three Supreme Court justices during his presidency. Pro-abortion-access groups donated $8 million in 2018 and more than $10 million in 2020, according to Open Secrets, a nonpartisan group that tracks political spending.

“People are realizing that seven months from now, we’ll probably be dealing with this on a state level,” said Brian Burch, president of CatholicVote. “This will become much more prominent in state electoral races, especially governor’s races.” The ruling could set off a flurry of activity concerning medicinal abortions — a medical option that didn't exist when Roe became law. "Day after” pills were approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2000, with restrictions that included requiring an in-person clinic visit before someone could be prescribed the two-pill regimen and a ban on sending them through the mail.

Majority of Supreme Court justices believe Roe ‘overstepped the bounds of law’NBC’s Pete Williams and legal analysts Melissa Murray and Joyce Vance join Chris Jansing to discuss Dobbs v. Jackson, one of the most important abortion cases in decades, which will be heard by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. “We now have five possibly six justices who are on record as believing that Roe is wrongly decided or at least overstepped the bounds of law,” says Vance. “And so the question is where this court will land.” JoyceWhiteVance This is why and how, a mentally demented majority gains control. The SCOTUS needs to be disbanded, and restructured by the people of the nation. Politics and Religious beliefs were never intended to rule the law. The SCOTUS has shown that their opinions and bias override the law. JoyceWhiteVance It’s time to get rid of the court system. It’s all a bunch of bullshit morgfair JoyceWhiteVance If they blow this, it will be the death knell for ANY real credibility going forward. For that, we can thank the Republicans and their ongoing battle with women.

Lemony Crème Fraîche Pasta With Trout Roe Recipe on Food52When I don’t have much time but want something that feels special, I often turn to crème fraîche or trout roe. These are small luxuries with a big payoff. In this recipe, I use both for a pasta that’s beautiful, delicious, and ready in a jiff. A specialty of France, crème fraîche is like sour cream’s sophisticated cousin. It’s richly creamy, with just a little tanginess. (If you can’t find it in a store, did you know you can also make your own? With just heavy cream, buttermilk, and a little time—learn how to here.) Trout roe literally glows. It brings sweet-briny flavor to anything you add it to, with a bursting, wonderful clack against the teeth. You can find trout roe at specialty markets or some fishmongers. But if you can’t find it, salmon roe works, too—just add a bit less, since it’s punchier. Field garlic is a wild ingredient that grows in so many places. From yards to parks, it grows in shaggy clumps like chives (which make a great substitute). To test, tear a stem and smell it. If it smells like garlic, bingo. With the landowner's permission, harvest it with scissors. And while I love angel hair for its delicate chewiness, spaghetti, linguine, or other long pastas work equally great.

During Arguments Over the Fate of Roe, Kavanaugh and Barrett Finally Showed Their CardsKavanaugh implied that overturning Roe v. Wade would be celebrated as a victory for democracy. Narrator: “it would not” I guess it doesn't matter that Kavanaugh did and said nothing of the sort? And it doesn't matter that the only person in this article referring to a 'victory for democracy' is the author of the piece? His funeral will be celebrated tbh.
