Pitcher Bob Gibson, whose dominance in the 1960s helped the St. Louis Cardinals win two World Series titles and led to a rule change, died Friday, a club spokesperson said. Gibson was 84.Gibson spent his 17-year career with the Cardinals, breaking in during the 1959 season. The eight-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove winner won the National League MVP once and twice was voted NL Cy Young and World Series MVP.
He also starred in basketball and track and field at Creighton University and played for the Harlem Globetrotters in 1957 before signing with the Cardinals and starting his baseball career. Gibson’s best regular season was in 1968, when he won NL MVP and Cy Young after leading the league with a 1.12 ERA, 13 shutouts and 268 strikeouts. In June and July that year, he went 12-0, all complete games, and pitched eight shutouts.“I had a lot of stomach problems and no one ever knew about it,”in 2018. “My stomach was always tied in knots because it was always the sixth or seventh inning and the score was 1-0 or 2-1 or something like that, either behind or ahead. And you couldn’t relax.
From an era where a complete game was not a rarity.
One of the best in my lifetime. RIP.

May he rest in peace. For everyone else: pancreatic cancer is thought to be a long time, slow growing cancer that began 10 years before it's diagnosed. More common in older men but women get it, too. If you're male, over 50, diabetic you need a CT scan.
jimbcbs4 Another great one! We're starting to run low on childhood badasses. :(
He wanted to see that last game.
Legend...RIP
Pancreatic Cancer should avoid the batters box for the next 15 years
