Bill Nye the Science Guy in Hill Country for total solar eclipse

Bill Nye, the Science Guy, is joining hundreds of thousands of onlookers expected to flock to Hill Country towns to watch the total solar eclipse next week. The scientist known for his popular children's show will be part of the Eclipse-O-Rama camping festival in Fredericksburg on April 7 and 8. Nye is CEO of The Planetary Society, which is sponsoring Eclipse-O-Rama.

' Admission to the two-day Eclipse-O-Rama festival is $325 per person . You have to be a member of The Planetary Society to attend. If you aren't a member, you can become one by purchasing a basic membership for $50 when you register for the event. Amenities for campers are available at additional cost, including RV spots , car camping spots and shower passes . There are multiple hotel options for guests looking to avoid the elements during their stay.
