The Big Ten Conference changed course on Wednesday saying there will be college football this year after having earlier postponed play amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

From the White House to college campuses, word of the Big Ten’s decision was greeted with cheers even if games are expected to be played without fans in the stadiums. The Trump campaign hailed the Big Ten’s decision as another sign that the country is reopening safely and life is returning to normal. For many Big Ten supporters like John Lishok, a Penn State fan who has had season tickets for the Nittany Lions for 25 years, the announcement was a case of better late than never.

The decision to play is a dramatic change of course for the Big Ten after it postponed the season over health and safety concerns for athletes, with the United States in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has claimed over 195,000 American lives. “Our focus with the Task Force over the last six weeks was to ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes,” Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren said in a statement. “Our goal has always been to return to competition so all student-athletes can realize their dream of competing in the sports they love.”

When money talks, solidarity walks. 😷

Well THAT'S a fucking terrible idea.

I’m a huge fan but... I don’t know.

This issue could make states like MI an easy red win if Governors for there agenda use Eos to bloc big 10 state schools from competition. . Will be interesting to watch some governors by their earlier actions and pronouncements are now caught in their own made Catch 22

Good

...such as daily rapid result testing, not available to the general public. Because football. Because money.

Get the coffins ready.

ALL LIVES MATTER

Vão para a Holanda ou França!

But it is too dangerous to vote for sure

Awww, they're bored...that's a good reason to kill people!

LetThemPlay = LetMoreDie

You should stand down Michigan. Wait a year! Show leadership.

Politics should have no place in sports!

And yes, there are a lot of people out there that think this is a valid reason for football to start again....because they miss it. Will they be even more upset when they have to cancel the rest of the season due to a COVID outbreak?

Those people all misspelled “I’m selfish as fukk, entertain me”

Protesting because they 'miss football' while people get casually killed on the streets

Please feel free to contact me via email (tsbeer7 [] gmail.com) or Twitter (TommyBeer). I like the decision; but you would think the Big Ten would have been able to lead the way a little more than following what others are doing. Just a thought. Go Ohio State! The greed is real.. Disgusting how these athletes can get tested every day when average citizens can't!
