The buzz of the bees drowned out the hum of the robotic arm, which worked with an efficiency no human beekeeper could match.

One after another the machine scanned stacks of honeycombs that together could house up to two million bees - inspecting them for disease, monitoring for pesticides and reporting in real time any hazards that threatened the colony.

There has been a drastic fall in bee numbers around the world, largely due to intensive agriculture, the use of pesticides, pests and climate change. At roughly the size of a cargo trailer, Beewise's hive houses 24 colonies. Inside, it is equipped with a robotic arm that slides between honeycombs, computer vision and cameras. Color-coded openings on the sides allow bees to come and go.

Great news for ag, and in the fight against varroa. Kind of a bummer for any flow-hive IPO plans that might have been drifting around.

God forbid that people have beekeeping jobs.

thanks

Not many families can afford training and time 4yo for their child. The more families that can afford to train a child 4yo, the greater the chance of having a world class Olympic winner. Cuba manda lembranças If GDP was the single biggest factor in determining Olympic success then why did India performed so poorly with 7% GDP? Anybody who thinks Olympic sporting success will prompt a mini-economic boom is deluded.
