Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Unfortunately for Batman, his greatest mistake is about to change his son Robin's life for the worse. For the past several months, Bruce has been dealing with the consequences of creating Zur-En-Arrh, his unhinged backup persona who has taken on a life of his own.
Batman’s mind was hit hard by the dimensional travel. To make things worse, Bruce landed in an alternate Gotham where low levels of fear toxin were pumped through the city thanks to this world’s version of the Joker, Red Mask. Batman spent weeks in this upside-down Gotham and his mental state only grew worse with the amount of stress he went under. However, Bruce defeated Red Mask and made his way back to his home dimension.
With Bruce out of the way, Zur-En-Arrh began his new crusade to eliminate crime in Batman #145. Zur-En-Arrh, armed with missiles, drones, and all the powers contained within his new Failsafe body, quickly took Gotham by storm. He violently attacked gangs, leaving some members behind as a warning to the city’s criminal element. Zur-En-Arrh also took out the Riddler as the Bat-Family watched in horror at what this Batman was doing.
With that in mind, fans got a peek at one of his potential plans in Batman #127. Robin Tim Drake meets the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, who takes Robin to a Batcave within the Batcave. In Zur-En-Arrh’s secret workshop, the backup persona had a costume on display: A gaudy Robin costume that matched Zur-En-Arrh’s bright and daring color scheme. However, the role of this costume wasn’t elaborated on and hasn’t been touched on since it was first seen.
