The ruling boosts a potential effort by the board to recover billions of dollars in payments made to bondholders should a federal court hearing Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy cases choose to invalidate disputed debt issued by the government and its agencies. The Bank of New York Mellon, Bank of America Corp, JP Morgan Chase Bank, and U.S. Bank objected to the board’s request last week, citing concerns over disclosing confidential customer information, as well as the cost and ability to produce a large amount of information by the April 19 deadline set by the board.

It was unclear whether the banks will appeal. Attorneys for the banks either declined to comment or could not immediately be reached.

Puerto Rico's pot boom? Medical marijuana industry touts growth, despite challengesThe government and industry proponents project that the cannabis program could generate $100,000,000 in new tax revenue by 2020 and create 20,000 jobs. I know people that are so greedy that they would charge twenty dollars for a gram of cannabis. Just so they can go out and buy themselves a gram of cocaine. Now , federally legal cannabis will end that. I do not need you to get my cannabis. You can not price gouge me. Right because everyone in PR is so rich...... Real money is in recreational marijuana. Haha yeah right. Ask California how that worked out. They taxed themselves out of the market and now the black market is thriving and acting with immunity.
