Representatives for the zoo said Jameela is healthy and strong, and surrogate mother Fredrika is exhibiting excellent maternal behavior. The baby gorilla is also working on her strength, doing tummy time and riding on caretakers backs in the same way Fredrika carries her babies, according to Elena Less, an animal coordinator with the zoo.
