AT&T and Verizon reject US call to delay 5G expansions over interference

beyond January 5th to address concerns of interference with aircraft systems. The companies argued that the government's proposed plan would effectively give oversight of the network expansions to the FAA for an"undetermined number of months or years," and wouldn't cover rivals like T-Mobile.

Instead, AT&T and Verizon tried to negotiate a compromise. They vowed not to deploy C-band 5G towers near some airports for six months, but only so long as the aviation industry and regulators didn't do more to halt C-band deployments. American transportation agencies had asked on December 31st for a general delay no longer than two weeks, but called for a gradual deployment of service near"priority" airports through March to safeguard important runways.

AT&T and Verizon might delay 5G expansion again over FAA concerns | EngadgetAT&T and Verizon were supposed to resume their 5G expansions on January 5 but might now need to wait two more weeks due to FAA concerns.. When I'm on AT&T 5G on my S21 Ultra it's about the equivalent of 2G. It's a ridiculous let down. I much prefer when I had 4G LTE. Both are garbage now because they can’t keep anyone working. Vax mandates have chased all the hood engineers. I know because I was one.

Apparently, the Federal Government who controls dishing out permissions for all communication frequencies & allocations forgot their controlling power TO COOPERATE WITH NATIONAL SECURITY REQUESTS, unless we don’t think aircraft falling out of the sky is an emergency profits.

US seeks new 5G delay to study interference with planesUS authorities have asked telecom operators AT&T and Verizon to delay for up to two weeks their already postponed rollout of 5G networks amid uncertainty about interference with vital flight safety equipment. So they wait until 6 days before roll-out to ask for a delay? For what, because the FAA hasn't updated all the obsolete altimeters yet. If I was AT&T and Verizon my answer would be: A self-induced emergency on their part does not constitute and emergency on our part. No delay.
