At end, of the day if bitcoin is successful, ‘they’ll kill it’ says founder of world’s largest hedge fund Dalio

“‘I think at the end, of the day if it’s really successful, they’ll kill it. And they’ll try to kill it. And I think they will kill it because they have ways of killing it. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a place—a value and so on.’”

In an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, Dalio reiterated comments that he has made in the past, repeating that governments have the power to undercut the growth of the nascent cryptocurrency market, including bitcoin BTCUSD, +1.03% and Ether ETHUSD, +1.01% on the Ethereum blockchain, which may pose a threat to conventional finance and global central banks.

For his part, Dalio explained that he maintains “a certain amount of money in bitcoin… it’s a small percentage of what I have in gold, which is a small percentage of what I have in my other assets.”

It's easy to kill cryptocurrencies. Just mandate regulation. SEC

'I’m no expert on it.' That says it all.

Lol they’d have to kill the internet and every computer first 😂🙄

‘They’ll’ And ‘If’ 😂. If it could have been stopped by the likes of himself and traditional financial elite’s by now. It would have been. The powerlessness they must be feeling is beautiful to observe. FYI Buying some of the bitcoin for your hedge funds wont stop it

But, if Bitcoin is not successful they’ll never let it die?

Looks at Bitcoin environmental impact If Bitcoin is successful, it will kill US.
