The State Dept. ended the sale of military equipment to Hong Kong and the U.K. said it would offer a pathway to British citizenship for Hong Kongers — the latest flares of retaliation against China over its new national security law.

The law hands the central government almost unchecked legal power in the former British colony, which was promised a"high degree of autonomy" for 50 years when it was returned to China in 1997. Yes the Senate imposes more sanctions, so we can expect to pay more with less yet again. Thanks mr President for nothing

Now will they stop giving it to US police departments?

Britain should NEVER have betrayed the people of Hong Kong.

Can we stop referring to this as a 'national security law'. It's a law meant to stifle freedom of speech in Hong Kong. Say that.

Can't move if you're imprisoned by NPRs commie pals for the security shits.

I don't see what the big thing is. Hong Kong is furiously capitalist, and so is the PRC now.

And America wants to be just like them.

wow

Hmmm? So ya can't trust communists to allow democracies to exist? This is all very unexpected. [NOT!] Do we still want to push forward globalism policies with China? Do we believe that they will treat us any differently?

Hope the Biden admin will consider allowing for them to come to America too before they are “disappeared” into a Chinese re-education camp.

Well, should also ban all Chinese apps.
