Doug Emhoff did not expect to become the face of the Biden administration’s fight against antisemitism when he became second gentleman, but he leaned into the role Wednesday during a roundtable on the issue.
Emhoff was joined at the meeting by domestic policy adviser Susan Rice and senior adviser to the president for public engagement Keisha Lance Bottoms, as well as special envoy to combat antisemitism Deborah Lipstadt. Leaders and experts from 13 different Jewish groups, including the Anti-Defamation League and Jewish on Campus, participated in the discussion.
Emhoff’s roundtable had already been in the works a few weeks ago as an avenue for the second gentleman to address the rise in antisemitic incidents across the country — but now it comes at a specifically poignant moment as rapper Ye, better known as Kanye West, has recently amplified antisemitic remarks, praising both Adolf Hitler and Nazism.
Several themes surfaced during the meeting, according to other attendees. One was the establishment of an antisemitism task force, such as the oneSheila Katz, the CEO of the National Council of Jewish Women, said she spoke up about wanting the administration to call out antisemitism more consistently “and not only doing it when it’s something about a celebrity.”
“This is one of many steps. The second gentleman has been clear that he will not be silent on this issue of hate,” Bottoms said. “And the administration has been very clear this is of utmost importance. That’s the reason we gather today, and the conversation will continue.” Though Emhoff did not grow up particularly religious, he’s largely embraced his Jewish identity since he’s assumed the role of second gentleman — hosting a virtual Seder, lighting the menorah at a Jewish school in D.C. and attending Rosh Hashanah services this past September. More recently, he’s expressed an interest in finding ways to help combat antisemitism across the country amid what he’s called an “epidemic of hate.
So nice of him to try to do this but go and check out where Biden and group have stood not with Israel but Palestine and Iran and others? Check out who speaks and who uses a race to try to act like they care. Not true.
Confused American Jews would fight for Israel but not the USA.
In Iranian prisons, they execute young people without having a lawyer. Why don't you hear the cries of the Iranian people?! They rape and torture in Iranian prisons and finally execute them, where are the human rights?! MohsenShekari MahsaAmini

👍👍👍👍👍
But today we do know WHO the REAL JEWS are..Don't we!!
These people are neither 'Jew' nor Hebrew. They're just running around with a STOLEN IDENTITY referring to themselves as 'Jewish'. And you know what: prophecy had seen them coming: The Book of Revelations did prophecy them way back then!1
He has to take care of his wife like a good husband!
Again: the real Biblical Hebrews originate according to The Old Testament in the line of SHEM. And besides: the region of Africa(then) and Middle East(now) have NO RECOLLECTION of their presence BEFORE 1948. BEFORE 1948 these people NEVER had set one foot in The PROMISED LAND!(4)
They don't fit the description of the Biblical Books of Genesis and/or Deuteronomy. The real Biblical Hebrews originate in the patriarchy of SHEM. These people originate in the patriarchy of JAPHET. Don't take my word for it: JUST DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!!!(2)
'And I'm proud to be 'Jewish' This is where the debate about truth and lie starts. I'm sorry to say, but as long as THIS HISTORIC LIE remains uncorrected, we will remain in opposition to each other. Let me make it clear: THESE PEOPLE ARE NEITHER SEMITES NOR JEWISH..Period(1)
Thank you SecondGentleman
