Amazon responds to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for wages claim

CNBCAmazon responded Monday to a comment by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., that it pays warehouse workers “starvation wages,” saying in a tweet that it pays workers at least $15 per hour plus full benefits.

Ocasio-Cortez said she was concerned that Bezos’ “being a billionaire is predicated on paying people starvation wages and stripping them of their ability to access health care, and also if his ability to be a billionaire is predicated on the fact that his workers are taking food stamps.”

$15 an hour? That's nothing in this day and age. In order for a family to survive they need to make at least $25 an hour as a base. The cost of living in America is ridiculously high.

I'm retired now and work a part time job,recieving $15 per hour.. It would be very difficult to survive on that

$600 bucks pre tax for a 40 hour week. $30 grand or so a year. That is not a living wage. Bezos is a modern day Lord, overseeing his fiefdom. Give 'em hell AOC.
