Amazon said Thursday that during the three months ending September 30 its sales grew 37% compared to the same period last year, to $96.1 billion, and profit increased 197% to $6.3 billion. The results topped estimates from Wall Street analysts. They do not include Amazon's Prime Day event, which took place October 13-14 this year after being postponed over the summer because of the pandemic.
Amazon expects sales to be between $112 billion and $121 billion during its final quarter of the year and operating income to be between $1 billion and $4.5 billion, including approximately $4 billion of costs related to the coronavirus.Amazon's stock was down nearly 1% during after-hours trading. Heading into Thursday, Amazon's stock had rallied more than 70% this year.
smerconish I have listened To you speak, you are a HUGE asset to this country & you Scott would do This nation well if you were in a policy making position Which touched people, because you are not only intelligent , but are logical, & empathetic, something that's missing in DC law makers
smerconish Amazon and the gig economy must pay corporate TAX inequality
smerconish They cut off the best part of the interview, which was Amazon heading into healthcare.
smerconish One of my favorite segments, thanks to Scott Galloway and to your always great interviewing skills.
smerconish It's also good for the economy! I keep looking at all the things I buy that I didn't need. I wouldn't have gone to the store for any of it. Ordered at 9pm last night and it's sitting in front of my door at 11am today.
smerconish Where is the reporting of Amazon employees on strike?
smerconish Outstanding interview with Prof. Galloway! This is clear and unbiased knowledge, This looking for the meaningful Future!
smerconish I’m a person of faith in Christ and do not think religious services should be treated as other businesses. However, they are essential to some people’s spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well being, but meeting in person is not required. Let’s do all we can to save lives.
smerconish Just bought Prof. Galloway’s book. I was going to ordered it on Amazon, but thought twice. So, I bought it on Apple iTunes... :-)
smerconish Trump needs to be nicer to Jeff Bezos or should i say it’s too late, he’s leaving theWht. Hse. At 12:01 Jan.20th and moving in soon after. Sorry for saying this bye but I love to keep saying 12:01 Jan.20th president Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden move into Wht. Hse.
smerconish Question am I the only one that will not be taking the vaccine. I do not trust it I wish I
smerconish I don’t agree that stimulus check be attached to getting vaccine. Help people if you want to not until they a vaccine. If we make people believe that the vaccine can be trusted through reviewing the results and education. Be open to all American.
smerconish Good show this morning Scott 👌🏾
smerconish Would it be constitutional to give one group of people government money than the other?
smerconish Amazon is going to take over.
smerconish Isn't that coincidental?
smerconish It’s true. In Wausau, Wi we have a empty mall. It’s a great place for a Amazon storage site.
smerconish You're here and we ain't following each other, o wrong now...Oya Let's grow together. IFB Immediately ❤️❤️
And yet people repeatedly say that Amazon should not have to pay more taxes then the mom and pop store down the street. That Bezos should not have to pay more taxes or a higher percentage of his income than I do of my Social Security
They should give back. To community, to scientific research.
Don't mess with Amazon! People who are stuck at home rely on Amazon for their shopping needs.
Like fucking sheep poor suckers
Profits up must be that the GDP is threw the roof. Hey report that CNN
It seems like that's all we have. Which isn't a good thing but we need necessities and it's too much to deal with the non-mask wearing public.
Jeff Bezos should be paying God taxes now, not just America
I bought from Amazon this month. Lots of coffee!
Too bad Amazon doesn’t treat their employees good or pay them accordingly. JeffBezos CorporateCriminal TaxEvasion
I love amazon
A billion dollar company that can’t refund me $50 for an order they never delivered amazon it’s been 2 weeks and STILL NO RESPONSE. If it weren’t for the pandemic I would NEVER order from this POS company.
And the Amazon employees still get shit wages and shit benefits
I wonder how Trump views this?
The first ant in the United States has been diagnosed with COVID19. 🐜 but seriously, wear a mask and vote BIDEN!
They made too much money. Increase their taxes by 37%. Nobody should be profiting during a pandemic 🤣
How wonderful, and I will bet that their tax bill was just like it always is, ZERO. Welcome to Trumpistan, the transparent authoritarian oligarchy that is the envy of the rest of the world.
so we can see, how many idiots exist 🤪: buying stuffs, that they don´t really need, destroying the local shops and turning the own city to a ghost town, support a employer, who don´t pay taxes and employs slaves. 🧟♂️🧟♀️
'Plausible deniability' Jim Biden
Does anyone in Fort Worth know whose car this is It was on Pennsylvania Avenue in as horrible wreck...
It only Make sense. Pandemic created an open lane for online sales and deliveries. It’s only facts and economics.
followthemoney who benefits most from covid19 pandemic?
F* Amazon and bless real shops
Proud to say I didn’t order a single item off Amazon.
'Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death.' Fear turns us back into shivering primitives, huddling in our caves. Amazon merely allows us to do so. Good for them!
Is Jeff still thinking of buying CNN?
I love Amazon, I don’t have to go out and look for stuff. With Amazon Prime most times no shipping cost. I’ve never liked going into stores trying to find things I’m trying to buy. It’s annoying to me.
No wonder Jeff wants ’lockdown’ Biden to win. If Joe and the swampettes can delay vaccines, therapeutics, and freedom, Amazon will rule world commerce. Forever, or at least until China ‘nationalizes’ the company.
Amazon has been a blessing, especially during this grossly mismanaged Covid pandemic. They have provided a viable route to market for many businesses. Good for them!
Shop local, people, please. Especially now. We need local jobs more than ever shoplocal
Amazon's service and delivery has gotten horrible..more trouble than going somewhere else ....i am divorcing them after about 20 yrs.....smh ...he needs to pay his people more ...a lot would improve, i think, if he did ....
Wow. I remember when Amazon only sold books.
Who’s big mad about the largest online retailer making record profits when everyone is stuck home and let me guess whole food deliver is booming for obvious reasons... wish I was getting the money, but can’t hate the player. Always winners and loser
mattglantz BryanMicon BrettRichey at least micon can pic em
I REFUSE TO BUY ANYTHING FROM AMAZON! AND, I TURNED DOWN A JOB OFFER FROM THEM! Part time, no benefits and the offer sucked.
Did workers get any of it ?
I’m on a first name basis with my Amazon delivery person. 👍
Was is the tax implication for 197% increase in profit when you pay $0 in taxes.
While you’re working on the big companies to try and get them to pay their fair share of taxes, you should work on Trump first.
And how do you think these obscene profit margins are maintained? By screwing over the employees, along with the sellers who partner with Amazon. This is Amazon's business model – built on greed and a lack of ethics. 😡
