Horsepower fanatics come in all shapes and sizes, and their automotive preferences tend to run an even wider gamut. We’re not just talking Chevy vs.vs. Ford . Think bigger. No matter how you like to burn your gasoline, it seems just about everybody loves the look—and sound—of individual runner throttle bodies on an engine.
The pistons are a custom forgings by DSS Racing Pistons for Prestige Motorsports. They feature a lightweight slipper-skirt design with a 9cc dish to help dial-in the correct compression ratio despite the extra stroke. They utilize a 0.927-inch Chevy-size wristpin and have a compression height of 1.225-inch.These are Eagle H-beam forgings that measure 6.250-inch from center to center and are sized for a 2.100-inch rod journal. The bearings are coated units from King.
Tie-bar roller lifters are slid into place over the cam lobes. Notice the webbing across the lifter valley to strengthen the aluminum block structure. The Shelby block also has large lifter bosses. They actually come quite close to the lifter bars, but rest assured, there are still several thousandths clearance, so no modifications were necessary.Prestige used a cylinder head with its own CNC-cut ports and combustion chamber for this build.
