UIL golf season concludes Monday and Tuesday with the girls tournaments and Alamo Heights attempting to repeat as Class 5A state champion.The Class 5A tournament is being played at White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown.
Alamo Heights freshman Lindsay Lee enters as the Region IV-5A champion. Teammate, sophomore Julia Vollmer — who finished third overall last year — returns, along with Ella Williams and Jacklyn Gonzalez from the state-title squad. Kerrville Tivy’s Raleygh Simpson, who tied for second with Vollmer at the regional tournament will be in contention as an individual.
Class 6A is being played at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown. Top area contenders include Camille Pazouki of Reagan, who finished third at regionals, and the Rattlers, who were team runner-up. Hondo’s Mallory Matthews, who won the Region IV-4A tournament by seven shots, was state runner-up last year. The 4A state tournament will take place at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.
