“I’m actually very excited — whatever I can play, I will play,” Pache said.

MESA, Ariz. — It’d be understandable for many A’s fans to still be recovering from the back-to-back trades of Matt Olson and Matt Chapman.saying goodbye

The star attraction in the trade is Pache, who has played in almost as many postseason games as he has regular-season games since getting called up late in 2020. Pache started all seven games of the 2020 NLCS for Atlanta, going 4-for-25 with a homer at 21 years old. Pache is renowned for his defensive abilities, with catcher Langeliers affirming that he’s “unreal” as an outfielder and has made “some of the most unbelievable catches” he’s has seen. A’s manager Mark Kotsay called him an “elite defender.”

“It was a hard thing to swallow,” Pache said. “Obviously a very emotional one, especially when you’ve created great bonds with the people you’ve been with for a long time. But it’s a business, and that’s the way the business works.” “The little things I’ve been working on in the offseason: to be very selective with the pitches that are thrown to me, and make sure I’m hitting the best one I can see,” Pache said.

“That experience was awesome,” Langeliers said. “Getting to be around a big league team and how they carry themselves and operate day to day, especially in the postseason environment — you just can’t replicate that type of experience.”

Report: A's Trade Matt Chapman to Blue Jays in Another BlockbusterThe Oakland Athletics reportedly are trading All-Star third baseman Matt Chapman to the Toronto Blue Jays for a package of prospects. Wow 😔 Athletics I hope he is vaxxed....one less A to move to Las Vegas. Athletics plan is so obvious: Double the price of season tix (of which I had); trade all the good players; lose 100 games; and then claim the community doesn't support the team and move to Las Vegas.
