The Columbus Crew surprised Clay Hall this morning with an honorary jersey in his name, with the number 29 on the back in tribute to his lengthy career at WSYX ABC 6. ABC 6's longtime sports director is retiring Thursday after 29 years at the station.
"It's just a joy to see him pop up in the newsroom because he's always smiling," anchor Jessica Ralston said. "He's happy, he's positive, he's excited about what he's doing that day." "Clay walks in with a smile on his face every day and I think a lot of that has to do with he loves what he does and so he brings that passion with him into the room and it permeates into the whole room," ABC 6 chief meteorologist Marshall McPeek said."You can count on Clay for anything and he's always willing to help out, not just with stuff in the newsroom," senior photographer Donny Sobnosky said.
