'A win for human rights': Judge blocks Trump's 'public charge' rule to restrict legal immigration

A New York federal judge on Friday blocked new changes imposed by the Trump administration to the way legal status is offered to migrants, an effort that was aimed at giving priority for visas and green cards to immigrants who are more educated and financially well off, as compared to those benefiting from public benefits.

"The Rule is simply a new agency policy of exclusion in search of a justification," Judge George Daniels of the Southern District of New York wrote in his ruling."It is repugnant to the American dream of the opportunity for prosperity and success through hard work and upwards mobility." President Donald Trump speaks on stage during a campaign rally at the Target Center on October 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota."This is excellent news!" Rep. Jerrold Nadler , chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, wrote in a tweet.

First unveiled in August, the controversial proposal would have given the Trump administration wider discretion in determining which legal immigrants should be awarded green cards and visas. If it had been implemented, it would have made it less likely that applicants who are low-income or less educated, or who might need public assistance be awarded such temporary legal status, because the government would consider them a potential burden for U.S. taxpayers.

The so called American Dream has been for centuries a light that the United States spread worldwide. The Trump era is murdering this dream.TheCURRENT Administration made such a mess, that it is difficult to distinguish legal from illegal immigrants.

Nothing about human rights it’s a issue of sovereignty!

The next amendment to the constitution should be in regards to impeaching judges. Also return appointment of senators to the states.

Whose 'human rights?' What about the American middle-class that has to pay for these new arrivals and the working class that will lose their jobs to them?

And a huge loss the the hardworking Americans and legal immigrants who pay taxes and have to support the takers.
