The law is intended to"encourage dialogue and education in the classroom" and to ensure that future generations understand the 2001 terrorist attack that took the lives of more than 3,000 people and its place in history, according to a statement from the governor's office.
The legislation was sponsored by state Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato and signed into law Monday.
get ready for the lawsuits from the 'party of tolerance' and...denial.
HAPPY 9-11 🎉🎉
Que the ACLU lawsuit.
Sounds good. Thank you. NeverForget911
When will they make 9-11 a National day of remembrance?
First good thing he’s done since he’s been in office.
That is awesome there are certain things that we should not forget and never let happen again
Did we need a LAW to remember 9/11? Speaks volume about the school teachers who can’t male it happen voluntarily. Disgusting how Dems have taken away PledgeOfAligience and AmericanFlagGlory by being AntiAmericanism all the time. ShameOnYou Dems and their slaves.
I’m from California, just graduated back in May of this year. I honestly thought everyone from every school did this, my high school would always have an assembly dedicated to 9/11. This should already be nationwide.
I live in Massachusetts and growing up in elementary, middle, and high school we already did this every year for 9/11
Islamic terrorisn.
How about a moment of silence for the millions of babies his abortion laws kill each year?
Surprisingly American of him...
state mandated silence?
.Bless those who departed 18 years ago. LORD Give solace to their families and loved one. .Bless those who died since then in pointless wars for no cause or change. Life is just but not in war
The last thing we need here in NY is Fredo's brother telling us what, when, and how to do something.
Me parece excelente. Se ha demoatrado que psicologicamente todas esas acciones colectivas que evitan que se olviden actos terroristas, refuerzan el patriotismo y mantienen unida a las masas por una causa comun.
NYGovCuomo This really needed to be a law? What ever happened to common decency?
They don’t even discuss 9/11 in my kids’ schools here in New York. I’ve asked them every year on 9/11. I don’t think this needed to be a law. All of us who witnessed and/or experienced it in some way will always remember.
Yep remember September 11 Muslims terrorist attack attack on innocent Americans
Perhaps he should be working on more important issues! How are your ratings doing CNN?
Nice😄
The 'No, it's not 'some people did something' Law' remember911
meaning. not only silence. that would be the point at the end.
It’s a real shame, but I don’t believe one thing the mainstream media says anymore. I believe CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and Derek companies ABC and NBC and CBS all hate our president, and I’ll have a far left liberal viewpoint.
Only in America do you have to have a law to remember
DemonRats already took God out of the schools .. maybe Fredo will talk about this on CNN Americas biggest racist news network.
Good. It can be an educational opportunity.
Sounds like forced patriotism, these kids weren’t even alive then.
I am very progressive, as anyone can see by my tweets, but you cannot force a law that demands moments of silence. This isn’t okay.
Did Fredo tell him to do it?
Somebody did something.
Great time to pray.
