From the 40th installment of the Wicked Queer Film Festival to a horror film festival in Salem, film critic Erin Trahan shares the fests to explore this season.

Forty-year milestones call for celebration, especially when it comes to queer cinema. Boston’s Wicked Queer turns 40 this spring and will have throwback screenings, cutting-edge contemporary features and shorts, and an energy that executive director Shawn Cotter hopes will foster queer unity and action.
