Ehm no, actually the PEW study does not say that at all. You should first read the exact question that was put, before over-interpreting. People were asked whether they were aware that you can view a list of assigned ad categories on a specific Facebook page. Not the same.

Denial

TRUE!

We are not stupid. Every time I search on google or amazon for a product it shows Up on Facebook as though another friend had interest in the same product. I’m certain other FB friend are seeing my name. We are all being used for free.

geekgirlden So 74% of facebook user's can't read. got it.

Wait, really? In 2019?

Shocker

And PPL wonder why you see relevant ads for products you like/might like. We are all just numbers and statistics that fit into the PPC advertising model. And no your phone/Alexa/Siri/google home is not spying on and showing you ads for what you are saying out loud.

Usage is decreasing by everyone with a Brain ~ Be careful when the neurons start acting up ~

We really have a problem in this country with an educated and aware citizenry.

Right. I look up something on Amazon and a ad pops up on Facebook.

74 percent are also too old to know the internet isn’t magic.

Also, 74% of Facebook users are your grandparents.

AlisonBlackwell I suspected that for sometime. That is why I got rid of my account.

All Democrats

DollaBill725 happy you deleted? Cause I fucking am...

Ladies and Gentlesheeple ....

Because 70% are old people who message chain letters and post personal messages as their status.

Not in any way surprised by this.

And 99% percent people don't care about the Government spying on them and later use that data to influence every decision from elections to buying a smartphone

DeletedFacebook

True. I didn't for years, only realised when anything I have bought or looked at started trailing me every time I logged in

This says a lot about the intelligence of people who use Facebook.

if you don't realize this, you're utterly oblivious to reality and deserve no sympathy

Ignorance is the only answer for why they don’t have a clue

Not a fan of SHADY ASS FACEBOOK.

Deleted Facebook 3 months ago, not going back !

This has been a recurrent theme in the news for at least three years. Too many people get their news from memes on Facebook.

74% of Facebook users are clueless.

Who would have ever thought that?

This number would have been understandable 2 years ago, but seriously people, do you pay zero attention to current events?

Search for a ceiling fan on any site. Go to your facebook and you will see tons of ceiling fans popping up in the ads.

How can they not... don't they notice the ads that come up on the page?

These people vote

Anyone who has a non-ironic Facebook account deserves whatever they get.

Twitter CEO: User who wrote anti-Semitic tweets made “interesting points” about Alex JonesJack Dorsey defended seeking the input of Ali Akbar, a hard-right Twitter user, on the decision to kick Infowars’ Alex Jones off the platform. But calling people who think they’re the wrong gender confused or dishonest is offensive. Okay. :sigh: jack created a global communication network, and yet he’s this out of touch. Funny. Newsweek, which spreads lies every week, calling Infowars a conspiracy website. Pot calling the kettle.
