editors' honest thoughts about the new Everlane leggings.I'm always a little skeptical of leggings that promise to take you "from gym to street." I like a decent amount of compression in a workout legging, which usually feels too restrictive for running to brunch. But I immediately loved these—they were light enough to be comfy but still maintained that snugness I like if I'm going to sweat. My favorite feature, however, was the high waistband.
In person these leggings look deceivingly small—I got an XL and thought no way they'd fit. But that's the magic of their compression capabilities. As soon as you put them on, they expand to fit your body snuggly .The material is really what makes these leggings a winner in my book. They're perfectly opaque, and I love that they're made with recycled nylon.
My biggest gripe with leggings is that so many of them pill after one wear or wash—and while I haven't washed the Everlane leggings yet, after a few light wears running errands and hanging around the house, there's not a pill in sight."Oooh, this color would look great with a chunky cream turtleneck."The leggings stretch and I like its near-seamless style, but the material erred too much on the sheer side for my taste.
