If the shooter is a protester, then this is emblematic of a much larger problem in society today: competing conceptions of justice. Is it the state that administers justice, or can individuals do so too? Does the law shape justice or vice versa?
The clear difference between these two situations is this - these officers were hunted down and killed. Breonna Taylor was killed in the crossfire of a lawfully served warrant after officers returned fire on her boyfriend that shot at them first. See the difference?
