The two Kiddie Academy childcare workers were arrested on suspicion of child abuse and conspiracy.

Two childcare workers in Rancho Cucamonga were arrested on suspicion of child abuse after an 8-month-old boy who was in their care went to the hospital with a skull fracture, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Friday, Jan. 14.

The boy was taken to the hospital on Sept. 4 with the injury, when investigators were alerted of the potential physical abuse, the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. The boy had been attending the Kiddie Academy on Victoria Park Lane. The two employees at the child care were arrested this week on suspicion of concealing the boy’s injuries and neglect, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Rudie Megan Maldonado, 29, was arrested on Wednesday night and booked on suspicion of child abuse and conspiracy. She was released on $100,000 bail. Felicia Ann Ferra, 50, of Yorba Linda, turned herself in to authorities on Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued. She was booked on suspicion of child abuse and conspiracy and released on bail. The amount was not available.
