NPCs with a farmer and a farm from Stardew valley

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Stardew Valley recently received a large update with Patch 1.6 adding in new content, such as new items and hidden abilities to make travel faster via horse. But even all those additions might not be enough to keep every farmer invested in the game. Then, it's time to take a look at other sources of content that keep the game interesting, like mods and challenges.

9 Farmers Are Limited To A Single Crop To Grow In this challenge, farmers are only allowed to grow a single crop type. As an example, if the farmer decides to grow parsnips – which are the first seeds given by Lewis to them if they aren't using the Meadowlands Map – then they can only grow parsnips for the entirety of their game.

7 Get A Late Start With The Rip Van Winkle Challenge For this challenge, the farmer must sleep through the first two years of their game. Luckily, there's a cutscene that plays at the start of Year 3 to signal that the farmer can finally get started. At the start of Year 3, a cutscene with the grandfather's ghost plays, and then the farmer can tend to their inherited farm with an extra dose of difficulty.

5 Manage Resources With The Self-Supplied Seed Challenge Of course, the farmer can't supply their own seeds from the beginning of the game because the only way to get them would be the initial batch from Lewis and from collecting Mixed Seeds. While the challenge is to only use seeds that the farmer makes themselvesthrough the Seed Maker or gathers through Mixed Seeds, there's an exception given in the beginning, since not every seed can be found as part of Mixed Seeds.

3 The Challenge Of Avoiding Certain Merchants This is also considered to be an anti-capitalist challenge, and it forces farmers to avoid the two most useful merchants: Pierre and JojaMart. However, this also means that it'll be difficult to complete the farming bundles in the Community Center because acquiring all the necessary seeds is tough without buying from those merchants.
