Thousands of disabled children and young people across Scotland will receive a one-off payment for £251.50 later this year to help with higher heating bills during the 2024/25 winter season. The Scottish Government has now confirmed all the new payment rates for devolved benefits and payments, including the Child Winter Heating Payment.
Those receiving the enhanced rate of the daily living component of Personal Independence Payment , or the enhanced rate of the daily living component of Adult Disability Payment , will also qualify for the winter help. The payment is per child or young person, not per household and if more than one child or young person in a household is entitled, they will each get a payment.
Qualifying benefits for Child Winter Heating Payment Young people under 19 getting one of the following benefits for at least one day during the September qualifying week will receive the £251.50 payment.Top Benefits News Scottish Government guidance also clarifies people do not not need to show receipts or proof of how they spent the money.
