Microsoft is set to increase Xbox Series X|S console prices in Japan next month...

), Microsoft Japan announced this week that it'll be increasing the retail prices in Japan from February 17th. “After carefully evaluating the market condition in Japan, we have decided to change the suggested retail price of Xbox consoles in the country," Microsoft said."We regularly evaluate the impact of local pricing to maintain reasonable consistency across regions.

While the final price of each console will ultimately be determined by each retailer, Microsoft's increase for both consoles is 5,000 yen . From February 17th, the retail price for the Xbox Series X including tax will be 59,978 yen , while the Series S including tax will increase to 37,978 yen . One possible factor in the difficult market situation for Xbox in Japan could be the lack of Japanese first-party developers under the
