Officials say Amy Adams, 41, appeared to have been waving to someone before she tried to get off the train just as the doors closed.

Wouldn’t the driver visually check after the doors were closed and before moving

Yikes! I hope both they're okay.

Horrid. People can be distracted from greeting acquaintances on a train…maybe some additional visual checks by sensors after doors are closed.
