Lawrence Shankland is the one everyone looks to as being Hearts’ biggest weapon at Hampden. But, as I see it, Jorge Grant can be massive. So too Barrie McKay, Alan Forrest, Kenneth Vargas.

If I’m a Hearts player, I’d be smelling blood as I’m sitting watching Rangers against Dundee. And Steven Naismith is no better man to have for this semi-final situation. Sunday cannot come quickly enough because I’m sure every single Hearts player would have looked at that Rangers performance against Ross County last weekend and taken something from it.

If Hearts can do that, they can get joy. It’s a bigger pitch, but that means bigger spaces as well and this is a massive opportunity. Naisy has been at the sharp end, he’s gone into these massive matches and he's come out of the right side of them. I heard him say earlier in the season after the win over Airdrie that no-one remembers you if you don’t win.

I’d imagine he’ll be on the case of the boys this week and ramming home the fact the form was also good heading to that last game at Ibrox a couple of months ago and then they ended up being severely turned over. He’ll be making sure that this time, if they smell blood, they are ready. While Rangers have another energy-sapping game tonight, Hearts can rest up after a great win over Livingston last weekend. When I say great win, I’m sure folk will read this and think: A great win? Against the team at the bottom of the table?
