I was unpaid carer for my husband for over 12 years. Carers allowance is a pittance for 24/7 care. Are folk aware that even this stops when the carer is in receipt of the state pension? The caring situation doesn't change though.

It's women, we have learned over the years to take shit.

It's in the name. They care. So others who clearly couldn't give a doodoo, quite happily let them get on with it. The 'not my problem' crew.

We live under a corrupt benefit system where you can be a millionaire and claim PIP (personal independence payments) which is a scandal in itself. While the unpaid carers save the state £billions
