Hospital trusts across England have declared ‘critical incidents’ in record numbers as the Omicron wave brings rising admissions and staff sickness. But the strains on NHS capacity long predate Covid, says Denis Campbell

Throughout this pandemic, the government has claimed it’s had one priority above all others: to protect the NHS from being overwhelmed. No point listening, will be the same politically biased rubbish as usual. Remember the sole aim of the rag IS TO GET THE LABOUR PARTY ELECTED

Covid patients to be sent to private hospitals under NHS dealMore NHS patients could be treated in private hospitals to safeguard the health service against an “unsustainable” surge in Covid patients and staff absences. They won’t accept NHS rates surely!
