Watford Junction Abbey Line trains cancelled all morning

At around 6.51am National Rail confirmed that buses were replacing trains on the Abbey Line between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey.National Rail said: “Due to damage to the overhead electric wires between St Albans Abbey and Watford Junction, all lines are currently closed.Rail replacement buses are being operated by Lucketts of Watford.Ticket acceptance is in place on the Arriva 321 bus service and Thameslink services between St Albans and London St Pancras International.

Earlier this month, Hertfordshire County Council’s highways and transport cabinet panel was presented with data showing there had been around 741 unplanned cancellations on the line last year. Executive member for highways and transport Cllr Phil Bibby announced that he would write “a strongly worded letter” to the Transport Minister, to “express our concerns about the service”.We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
