The 1970s cartoon traumatised generations of children, but the new version is tame, drab and deeply unsatisfying. What, really, was the point?

Netflix antitrust suite.

When I saw the preview, I was completely confused and thought who did they make this filmfor?

I watched it earlier and found it quite traumatising 😰

It was good, stop moaning!

the radio version is worth a listen

It's as entertaining as a family friendly deadpool

Glad I never bothered to read it!

I watched it thinking the writer must have thought he was writing a Russian Play - who would watch it without a belly full of beer? Real cheery stuff.... not!

It were good

cant remake a classic , they are classics for a reason !!!

I dont think anything could beat the original

Shouldn't you be reviewing some movie that was released in 1998?

Watership Down, you've read the book now eat the pie.

Very poor and odd accents all over the shop

I thought it created a lot of drama, but hey. Barely a word said about the bad voice acting, which I would dare say ate up a fair bit of what already is a small budget for CGI

What was the point.... I keep asking the same question about the Guardian.

This should have been in 3 long parts not 2. Too much chopped out of book (a brilliant book) in my opinion.

I hate rabbit stew ?

How my grandfather created Watership Down, one of the darkest children's books ever writtenMy grandfather, Richard Adams, commonly listed as his hobbies English literature, music, chess, beer and shove-ha’penny, bird-song, folk-song and country walking. As a child I found the film disturbing For those of us who grew up in the wilds, it was never 'dark', but brutally and soulfully honest. If only there were more like it! If you found Watership Down disturbing, whatever you do, do not watch The Plague Dogs. I would recommend it if you think you can handle it.

On the real Watership Down, rabbits are hard to come byNumbers may be at an all time low as a new adaptation of the novel hits our TV screens That's because they all died in the end of the movie. Life imitating art.... Good piece but rabbits are crepuscular, not nocturnal.

BBC's 'horrific' reboot of Watership Down flops after 700k fans switch offTHE BBC seem to have had a bit of a bad hare day when it comes to its Watership Down remake. A hefty 700,000 viewers switched off the big budget reboot as it made its debut on Saturday night — comp… It's has that same video game look as that BBC 'planet dinosaur' thing few years ago. I like the charm and artistry of the original. If you remake it, you need to recreate a sense of charm and artistry too or it's not worth it. was enough to give you nightmares I thought it was brilliant and sad well done bbc
