I recall being a kid in the 79s/80s. Never saw a policeman cos we didn’t go around causing mayhem never mind stabbing people. Blame the lack of stop and search, lack of parenting and more people coming in to the uk who use knives as second nature thinking it’s perfectly accept/e.

Police numbers may indeed be one of many factors but is it not also about what the police we do have are actually prioritising. I would rather see existing officers working to deal with knife crime than spending time looking for folk that have said boo to someone on Twitter.
