Laws are in place to stop young people buying knives, but they don’t seem to be working. Also parents need to be more aware of what their kids are doing, even if that means searching bedrooms. There are too many parents who are scared to confront their own children.

Police Chiefs - direct efforts to government re adequate resources for police. Increase all knife crime sentencing to minimum 5 years (carrying)10 (using) LIFE (killing). Then government should tackle discipline education lacking in parents, restore discipline to schools.

It starts in the home they have few boundaries, then subsequently these children are excluded from School and then it leads to this. Sorry I came from a poor working class background, one of four kids with just my mum on the scene. None of us were excluded or stabbed anyone.
Some Politicians will blame austerity and the lack of youth clubs, others defend police cuts and disregard its importance. Nothing changes, apart from stab rates increasing. More police on the streets, longer prison sentences and bring back the fear of punishment.
